I came across 2 intersting sites. One of them is a very informative site about typography. Its a companion site to a book on typography. Check out Thinking with Type
The other site is about drugs. Scoot to Erowid
Song for the moment: Luciano - Red inna Rome

Bring on the Revolution
If you don't like the Revolution controller, you are fundamentally part of the problem and killing the fucking art form.

If only. NO really, If only
I came across a piece called Declaration of Revocation, some days back. I heard that this piece was a hoax. But I wouldn't be suprised if John Cleese (one of the members of the comic troupe Monty Python) actually wrote it.

Comics Reviewed
I've been reading a lot of comics by Alan Moore recently.
V for Vendetta - Tragic thing is that I was reading this comic while the London Bomb Blasts occured. What if things took a turn for the worse. Imagine UK going the Nazi way after the bombings. Instead of the Fuhrer they have a boob that falls in love with a computer that is almost a shade of Big Brother (1984 anyone?). Along the way comes a character in the vein of Mule (the mutant in Isaac Asimov's Foundation series). An X-Factor of sorts. An Anarchist that kicks ass. Alan Moore's genius lies in the telling of a tale in 10 issues. Its poetic.
Batman? Spin on this!
Supreme - What if a Super Hero was thrust into a yet to be written comic book? Plots all waiting to be triggered. Catch being that he has a variety of experiences that as far as he is concerned, has already occured. The comic consists of a series of flash backs that is actually a tribute to the golden age of comics (in the U.S.A.). But in the case of Supreme, time moves on forward, backwards & ducks into occasional loops & spirals. What stands out in this series is the way paradoxes in time travel & infinite universes are handled. Read it to be blown away. No loose ends here. In short Supreme is ASTOUNDING! & funny as a costume party in hell.
Supremalicious
Watchmen - Super Heroes are thrown out of their jobs by the government. 20 odd years later someone is bumping them of one by one. A Who-Dunnit? that explores retirement blues & insecurities of washed up & not yet washed up super heroes. Sounds funny?. Maybe, but its one hell of read. The characters may be superheroes, but they are still human & have their short comings. The plot twists & turns through 12 issues. Super Villains usually threaten the world with nuclear war or something more believable (in a comic). But you haven't read anything this awesome. The master plan is so damn dastardly.
Shades of Black & Gloom with a bright ending.

HEALTH HAZARD!!
Finished 'Stranger in a Strange Land' by Robert A. Heinlein. Its got glowing reviews left right & centre. Whats more is that most people who I know liked it too.
Setting all that aside this is one crap book. The characters are way too artifical. The book reads like a script for a bad mono-act by the author. Women & sex are given that I'm-a-10-year-old-boy-who-discovered-Play-Boy treatment. There are some near-philosophical moments where he does make a point about religion & society. On the whole a very avoidable book.
Book Sucks!
Heinlein at his best:
Farnham's Freehold
Job
Glory Road
PS- moonjungle & moongallery will resume shortly. Rukhawat ke liye khedh hai
